Design Concept

A logo design created for Izumi Ryokuen Co., Ltd., a Japanese landscaping company.

At the heart of the symbol is the kanji character “泉” (Izumi), taken from the company’s name.

Rather than representing landscaping solely through literal imagery such as trees or leaves, the design combines a circular composition inspired by traditional Japanese family crests (kamon) with soft, organic forms reminiscent of plants.

The central kanji character has been geometrically reinterpreted rather than reproduced using an existing typeface, allowing it to harmonise with the overall composition.

A balance of strength and negative space creates a refined visual identity that reflects harmony with nature and the care and craftsmanship behind the company’s work.

Respecting the company’s heritage while looking towards its future, the design aims to create a contemporary yet timeless symbol that will remain relevant for years to come.
