DESIGN STORY

Shika to Kakato is a logo identity created for a foot care salon based in Ikoma, Nara.

At the client’s request, I incorporated two key motifs: the deer and traditional Kabuki kumadori make-up.

By combining the deer, an enduring symbol of Nara, with the bold and expressive character of kumadori, I created an identity that reflects the distinctive personality of the brand. Traditional Japanese elements were reinterpreted through a contemporary visual language, resulting in a simple yet memorable symbol designed to remain effective across a wide range of applications for years to come.
