Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and traditional forms, I create distinctive logos and visual identities that translate each brand’s story, values and vision into a lasting symbol.

01 / ORIGIN

Perspectives shaped elsewhere, brought together in Kyoto.

Perspectives shaped elsewhere, brought together in Kyoto.

After spending my student years in Kyoto, I went on to live in Tokyo and later the UK. Experiencing different cultures and ways of thinking gave me a new perspective on the beauty of Japan and the value of its craftsmanship.

Today, I am based in Kyoto, drawing inspiration from Japanese aesthetics while designing for both domestic and international clients. The perspectives I gained from living in different places continue to shape the foundation of my work.

02 / PERSPECTIVE

Rediscovering Japanese aesthetics from a new perspective.

Rediscovering Japanese aesthetics from a new perspective.

Living in the UK gave me the opportunity to step away from Japanese culture and craftsmanship and view them from a different perspective.

It made me recognise qualities I had once taken for granted: the use of space, balance, restraint, materiality and attention to detail.

At K.Design, I do not simply recreate traditional Japanese forms. Instead, I consider the values and principles behind them, translating those ideas into identities that feel relevant to brands today.

03 / PHILOSOPHY

I do not design simply to make something “look Japanese”.

I do not design simply to make something “look Japanese”.

What matters to me is not reproducing traditional motifs as they are.

Instead, I draw on principles found within Japanese aesthetics — balance, rhythm, negative space, proportion and restraint — and use them as a foundation for creating identities that express the true character of each brand.

04 / MISSION

Designing for a future where culture continues to evolve.

Designing for a future where culture continues to evolve.

Across Japan, there are crafts, techniques and ideas that have been passed down over generations, as well as new expressions that will shape the future.

I believe design can help communicate their value to a wider audience and ensure that they continue to be recognised for generations to come.

Through K.Design, I aim to create distinctive identities that give lasting form to the stories, values and craftsmanship behind each brand.
