DESIGN STORY

For JAPAN PLANNED, a US-based travel concierge brand, I created a symbol that embodies a sense of refinement and distinctly Japanese beauty.

The design centres on the silhouette of a woman wearing a kimono. I incorporated an inaho rice motif into her hair ornament, representing abundance and prosperity, while subtly integrating the brand’s initials, “JP”, around the neckline to give the simple silhouette a distinctive identity.

The overall design was created to feel approachable to an international audience while still expressing a clear sense of Japan. I balanced traditional references with a contemporary visual language to create an identity that feels both timeless and accessible.
