I created this brand logo for Zen Sei.

To express the brand concept of enjoying fragrance and tea during quiet evenings and taking time to reset the mind, I chose a crescent moon as the central motif.

A single flowing line in front of the moon represents both the smoke rising from incense and the gentle steam of freshly brewed tea. By giving one line two meanings, the symbol reflects the calm, unhurried moments that the brand seeks to create.

The moon itself is constructed from fine horizontal lines, allowing subtle texture to emerge when applied to Japanese paper and printed materials. Through careful use of negative space, I balanced a distinctly Japanese sense of tranquillity with contemporary refinement.

The logo was designed to retain its character across a wide range of applications, including noren curtains, hanging scrolls, incense products, tea ware and packaging.
